Spun silk: Spun silk is the product of silk spinning engineering. Silk spinning is the process of spinning defective cocoons and waste silk generated in sericulture, silk making, and silk weaving into yarn. Spun silk yarn is generally made by combining two fine yarns on a doubling machine (also known as a combining machine), twisting them into ply yarn on a ring twisting machine, and then removing rough defects through a warping machine with gauges or a winding machine with an electronic yarn clearer. It undergoes 1 to 2 passes through a gassing machine to remove surface fuzz and rough particles, making the spun silk surface clean and enhancing its luster. Finally, it is reeled into hanks and packed into small bales.
